All surgery charges include anesthesia, blood screening (profile & CBC), IV catheter, hospitalization, ECG monitoring, and pain medication.

In the days leading up to your pet’s spay or neuter appointment, there are a few things you can do to help prepare your pet for a quick and safe recovery.



• Crate train your pet so that they will feel comfortable recovering in their crate after surgery.
• Create a dog safe area in your home and use gates to restrict access to stairs or furniture following surgery.
• Withhold food and water from your pet the night before the surgery to prevent vomiting and aspiration.
• Stay calm before and on the way to the spay/neuter appointment. Pets tend to feed off their owner’s emotions and if you are nervous your pet can sense that. 

After your pet has been spayed or neutered, it will need time to recover. Here are some tips for a safe and comfortable recovery.

• Provide your pet with a quiet place to recover indoors and away from other animals.
• Keep your pet inside and restrict activity for 7-10 days. This allows the tissue time to heal and keeps the incision from opening up.
• Check the incision site at least twice daily. There should be no drainage and redness/swelling should be minimal.
• Prevent your pet from licking the incision site by distracting your pet with treats or by using an Elizabethan collar.
• Do not give your pet a bath during the recovery period as the incision should stay dry.
• Dogs must be walked on a leash and cats must be kept indoors.
• Do not change your pet’s diet or give them junk food, table scraps, milk, or any other human food during this time.

Your pet will be ready for food when they get home, but you should feed them a smaller meal than normal.
